The day started at 6am after driving up from Coldstream the afternoon the day before.

The river was intimidating when we arrived and rose a further 400mm over night. This was a real blessing as it meant we weren’t as stressed with hull clearances.

We had been told that 2m at Jingellic was the safe level for the trip from Khancoban downstream. Thanks to Andrew Thompson for allowing us to pick his brain on his previous excursions up to Khancoban.
